Obviously with a survey book, no one can include all the details of any significant person, event, or movement. The First Medieval Pope. My personal preference while learning history is to move year by year, aware of all the things happening concurrently with each other. It is well written and maintains the adventure and historicity of its contents.
Being as Church history is erale with all kinds of nuance, I though this volume represented the relevant facts fairly, and maintained a proper spiritual compass without allowing it to impede the information.
